PLAYER PROFILE: KARRON CLARKE
Elliah Karron Clarke is a name that might be familiar to the fans of Big East Conference basketball. As a freshmen at the University of Miami, NYC native Karron Clarke competed in the Big East with the Hurricanes. When Miami changed coaches and brought in Frank Haith, Clarke decided to join a couple of his friends in the Windy City and headed to DePaul. Now, he is back in the Big East and also has another new coach, the 4th head man he has had to become acquanited with, and Karron Clarke is ready to get back after it in the Big East.
Clarke attended Abraham Lincoln High School in New York city where he played with Sebastian Telfair and led the Railsplitters to the Class A PSAL championship. Clarke came out of nowhere to become a hot commodity on the recruiting circuit, but he opted to take an additional prep year at the Winchendon School to sort things out a little more and ended up signing with Miami, over interest from several Big East schools. He also attended Benjamin Banneker in NYC before spending a year at Springam in DC, before finishing with a year at Lincoln and then at Winchendon, so, Clarke has been around of late.

At Miami, Clarke played in all 30 games as a freshmen, averaging 3 PPG and 2.2 rebounds in just under 11 minutes a game. He struggled from the floor, shooting just 32% from the field and went 5-36 from the 3-pt line. Clarke is a tremendous athlete and a strong wing player that overpowered and outjumped players in high school and in the prep ranks. He has a diverse offensive game, able to put the ball on the floor and create offense for himself or his teammates. He can also hit from beyond the arc, but obviously struggled adjusting to the college game as a freshmen.
Clark should find somewhat of a comfort zone in playing with Cliff Clinkscales and Sammy Mejia at DePaul. He transferred to DePaul to have the chance to play with his two friends and the three of them should see plenty of court time together as Clinkscales and Clarke look to replace Drake Diener and Quemont Greer's production from last year. Clarke will need to improve his skill set on the wing, but he has the athletic ability to make an immediate impact, he can be classified as an athletic freak, and he does have the ability to do more, he just needs to find his comfort zone and the perfect balance on using his athleticism with his wing skills.
Karron Clarke is a very important player in the success of the 2005-2006 DePaul Blue Demons.
