2006 BIG EAST EARLY RECRUITING CLASSES: #10 DEPAUL

Freshmen: Will Walker (PG), Manual Cass (F)

Will Walker was the recruit that Jerry Wainwright wanted right from the beginning and the new DePaul coach got Walker's signature on the dotted line during the early signing period. for every new coach, the most important recruit is nearly always their first point guard and the DePaul staff got their man. Walker will add to the Depaul roster a strong playmaking presence, something that DePaul has struggled with in Wainwright's first season in the early going. Late in the early period, they added combination forward Manual Cass from downstate. Cass is a hard working player that has more of an PF game and will need to develop the perimeter traits to be ready to contribute early on.

DePaul has a full cupboard of 13 players committed for the 2006-2007 season, so they can move on and begin recruiting for 2007. They have a fairly well balanced roster for next season, it will be interesting to see how things continue to play out this season as the players work to fit their roles into Wainwright's system.
